Several candidates on the June 3 ballot picked up newspaper endorsements over the long holiday weekend.
In the race for the District 4 seat of retiring U.S. Rep. John Doolittle, Republican Doug Ose won the endorsements of the Placerville Mountain Democrat, a weekday paper. Tom McClintock, Ose’s opponent, won the nod of the weekly Sacramento Union.
And in the race for the District 3 State senate seat, former Assemblyman Joe Nation picked up the endorsement of the San Francisco Examiner.
