Several candidates are rolling out endorsements with the June 3 voting day nearing.
Republican U.S. House candidate Tom McClintock, running for the seat of retiring District 4 U.S. Rep. John Doolittle, has won the endorsement of the Young Republican Federation of California.
“To have conservative Young Republicans in the state go on record and support Senator McClintock is a testament of his conservative credentials,” said Benjamin Lopez, the organization’s chair. “Young Republicans in California recognize that Tom McClintock truly represents them in the conservative cause. He has always been there for Young Republicans in this state.”
In the race for the District 52 seat of retiring U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, Republican Duncan D. Hunter won the endorsement of McClintock, a state Senator.
"Duncan D. Hunter is exactly the kind of leader we need in Congress. His commitment to lower taxes, less government spending and his fiscal conservatism are all reasons I strongly support him and his campaign," said McClintock.
And in the race for Sacramento mayor, Kevin Johnson won several endorsements from members of the Latino community, including the Latino Journal.
“Mr. Johnson’s business acumen, genuine concern for our children’s education, and his demonstrated ability to convert a crime-ridden and dilapidated neighborhood into a vibrant and energetic place to live are demonstrated skills necessary to be the Mayor of any city,” said Adrian Perez, the Journal’s publisher.
Johnson is challenging incumbent Mayor Heather Fargo.
