The California Republican Party is taking aim at presumptive Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama hours before Obama is to attend a Hollywood fundraiser.
"Barack Obama will attend a fundraiser in Los Angeles tonight featuring some prominent supporters of Hillary Clinton's campaign for President. Obama's decision to mingle with tinsel town's elite, rather than meet with our commander in Iraq, leaves many Californians wondering about Obama's priorities,” said Ron Nehring, the California Republican Party chair.
The attack earned a harsh pushback from the California Democratic Party.
“This is just another in a series of nonsensical non sequiturs from the California Republican Party,” said Roger Salazar, a senior adviser to the party. “If they knew California half as well as they think they do, they wouldn't be losing registered voters in scores as they have this year.”
Attending the Obama event at the Los Angeles Music Center tonight are such big name stars as Dennis Quaid, Heidi Klum, and Sidney Poitier. Tickets are being sold for $2,300 per person, with a passes to a VIP event going for $28,500 per couple.

Sour Grapes
When the money raised by both candidates in this week in California is tallied it would be interesting to see who did better.
Barack could draw a bigger crowd just by showing up than McCain could given ten days to advance his visit in any district in the state.
It is a little funny that John McCain is the 'winner' in the winners and losers category given his trying to pose as an ecology guy while pushing off shore drilling.
