Cook narrowly outpaces Rohrabacher in 2nd quarter money
By Alex IsenstadtHuntington Beach Mayor Debbie Cook has outraised Republican incumbent U.S. Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Huntington Beach) in the second quarter, according to fundraising reports made public Tuesday.
Cook took in $92,990 between April and June and had $97,392 in cash on hand at the close of the reporting period. Rohrabacher, meanwhile, raised $78,712 during the period and had $387,950 on hand.
Cook has raised $157,269 during the course of the cycle, while Rohrabacher has raised $323,966.
Cook’s challenge to Rohrabacher, a ten-term incumbent, is widely seen as something of a long shot. The 46th Congressional District has a conservative voting history, supporting President Bush with 55 percent and 57 percent of the vote in the last two elections.
