Sacramento mayoral candidate Kevin Johnson has picked up the endorsement of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union.
“The ILWU Local 17 Pensioners Club believes Kevin Johnson will bring a fresh and positive attitude to the city of Sacramento,” said ILWU Local 17 Pensioners Club President Willie Walker. “With his energy and ‘can do’ attitude, he will energize all Sacramento, work to make our neighborhood safe attract business and create jobs in our city. We join the many individuals and organizations supporting Kevin for Mayor of the City of Sacramento.”
Johnson, a former professional basketball star who is challenging incumbent Mayor Heather Fargo in a June 3 primary, has also won labor endorsements from the Sacramento Labor Council, United Healthcare Workers, and the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
