Democratic state Senate candidate Joe Nation today won the endorsement of the Independent Journal, a Marin newspaper with a daily circulation of 40,000.
“The IJ endorses Joe Nation because he would do the best job for Marin, for the district and for the state,” writes the paper in an editorial.
Nation, an environmental consultant and a former assemblyman, is challenging District 3 incumbent Carole Migden in a June 3 Democratic primary. Also competing in the primary is San Francisco-area Assemblyman Mark Leno.
June 8, 2010, may seem like a long time from now, Democratic candidates for California governor already lining up. Here's the rundown.

Dumpster IJ Editorial
Central to the IJs thinking is that their candidate lives in Marin. He doesn't. He moved out of Marin and apparently separated with his wife after he lost to Woolsey. By the way, Woolsey was right to endorse Leno. Frieman was right to expose Nation's folly with big real estate. Now we learn that he is funded by big pharma and oil, too. Joe stepped into the race late and said he didn't have to worry about money. Now we know why. Love his climate ditties, even though he never says anything worth repeating.
